About DFA Award

 

Every year since 2003, a panel of distinguished Asian design gurus has descended on Hong Kong. Their mission is to identify the most outstanding recent examples of creative genius in the region, who will receive Design for Asia (DFA) Award, Grand Award and Special Award.

 

This highly renowned Award was established by the Hong Kong Design Centre in 2003. We honour and acknowledge new design projects that have the potential to increase the quality and vibrancy of the lives of people in Asia, and to make the whole world more sustainable. Furthermore, DFA Award offers its participants a platform to share experience and learn more about Asia’s lively design scene.

 

Hailed as one of the most recognised design awards on both local and international fronts, the DFA Award places emphasis on the overall excellence, Asian styling, commercial success and social impact of the entries when it comes to the selection criteria. This year the judges are pleased to have seen a record high of 728 entries from 25 countries, all displaying excellence under four design categories including apparel and accessory, communication, product and industrial, as well as environmental.
