The Crossover Charity Event "αLINK x Illustrator x ORBIS"

Introduction

 

Alphalink (HK) Limited was established in 2012. We aim to provide a variety of superb products and services to different public sectors as for enhancing everyone’s quality of life.

 

We play host to a crossover charity event with LLAB Design Limited and ORBIS. 12 professional local illustrators and designers are being invited to make some innovative design with the Link Socket. All the proceeds of the sale will be donated to ORBIS Hong Kong for ORBIS’s sight-saving project in bringing light to 39 million blind people worldwide.

 

The artwork will be shown during the In-Home Expo 2013 exhibition from 14 to 16 June 2013 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. Our booth number is M16 in Hall 3. Please feel free to visit us.

Artwork and the Biography of the Illustrator

 

Amy Lien believes in principles, vowed to apply them throughout the lifetime, dedicated to seek the Truth by involving ourselves in as many fields as we could: advertising, filming, fashion, architecture…anything that is reachable in our life.

Connecting Faces

In pastime, we used to connect each other by communicating face to face. Nowadays, we are so trained to connect each other with gadgets. We looked at the laminating screen more than someone else's faces during gatherings. The faces show how we feel when we are forced to connect directly: uneasy, odd and anxiety.

Bella Lee is a professional illustrator who graduated from Middlesex University in 2005.

 

By the success of two full length stories: "The Rain" and "Big Eyes and Stinky" , she was invited for attending D&AD portfolio surgery as listed new illustrator. In the same year, she took part in designing TOPSHOP window display.

 

She is a member of a leading illustration agency called "Painted Words", published a story book "I adopted a goose" and cooperated with oxford University Press for a children story book.

Graduated with BA in Visual Communication in The Hong Kong Polytechnic University and also Faculty of Art, Design & Architecture in Kingston University.

 

Berry specialized in feature motion graphic, stop motion and animation. She loves to use handcrafted works and illustration to share her concept and stories. She conveys her vision and concept with a blending of originality and experiment of motion image.

 

Her work won her awards and accolades at the Promax Asia Awards, Promax World Gold Competition and BDA World Gold Competition. Also she was represented to Hong Kong to New York to Join "Cut and Paste Digital Design Tournament" at 2009 and won herself the City Championship of Motion Design.

 

Her works can be found all over the world such as Hong Kong, London, Canada, USA and New Zealand including “Oh! Give Me Strength”, “The Tramp” and “Mr. Mess”.

 

She is now an independent animate designer and director.

A Graduate of Illustration (MA) of Kingston University, and Visual Communication (BA) of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Jacky has set foot on advertising industry. Been exposed to different illustrators, he reckons the significance of illustration and that shapes his career path. He reached another career climax when his magnum opus "What We Deserve" manifesting the unfair treatments and cruelty to animals exhibited at London Design Festival. Humbly, Jacky considers himself not an inborn illustrator, but he wishes to provide a platform to promote illustrations, especially through his recent project "ScrapBook Magazine".

Kong Khong Chang (Kong Kee) was graduated from the Fine Arts at The Chinese University of Hong Kong and the Master of Creative Media at City University of Hong Kong. Beardsley studied in the USA, obtained Degree (BA) in Hong Kong Polytechnic University, worked as graphic designer yet she started as an full time illustrator since 2003, same year, entered in an Anna Sui Dolly head contest and won grand price. Now her clients included lsetan New York, Maybelline, Vidal Sasson, IT, Levi’s, Sony, Samsung and serves 4As agencies.

During the time, Mike has served for both local and global accounts included HSBC, Hang Seng Bank, DBS, Nike, Just Gold, P&G, Ikea, CSL, PCCW, Motorola, Sony etc. In 2010 Mike has established a HK-based creative studio - LLAB Design Ltd with Tryde.

Pan likes to play with children, although children mostly don’t be interested in him. He loves to draw illustration freehand, always imagines that he is one of the role in those character. He feels happy to join this charity project, and looks forward to seeing people that get benefit from his illustration!

Toby Yeung is a Hong Kong-based multimedia designer who is just exceptionally obsessed with characters design. He represents the passion of graphic, characters and figure design and publish artworks under the name tobyhk.

 

He was awarded "40 Under 40" given to the 40 "most influential and outstanding designers in Greater China. Explore and expose to different collaboration events with renowned brands like DISNEY, Volkswagen, STARBUCKS, CIAK, L’OREAL, VANS, Quiksilver, Giordano, KAPPA, Rody, WWF etc.
